The First of May is May Day in the
USA; also Law Day. Labour Day in Australia. On this date in 1786, Mozart's
opera “The Marriage of Figaro” premiered in Vienna. Steve Reeves, 1950’s
Superman, died on this day in 2000.
Arbor Day
The first Arbor Day took place
on April 10, 1872, in Nebraska, the brainchild of Julius Sterling Morton
(1832-1902), a Nebraska journalist and politician. Arbor Day is an excellent
reminder to take stock of your trees.
